What's going on with my career
Hi I'm Nicole, writer and host of Nicstalgia!!!
I explore pop culture, media, and technology's
impact on identity. I'm compiling my essays into a book
and also currently writing a paper on AI's impact on
fashion, media, and consumer culture.
TL;DR:
I'm looking for a full-time, senior role with a People & Culture Programs focus.
This can
look like Learning & Development, Training,
Internal Communications, Employee Experience, or Knowledge & Content Management.
I'm also open to roles in Organizational Effectiveness,
Process Improvement, Project Management, CRM, and Retail Operations.
This is a story about a girl named Lucky
š©š»āš 2012: Graduated summa cum laude and department valedictorian with a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising.
š 2010-2014: Sold about $1M of Michael Kors handbags in 4" heels, with only a bodycon dress and a dream...
āļø 2015-2016: Developed & delivered 50 culture-defining training programs for
400+ employees and managed 20 new store openings across North America for
Giorgio Armani brands.
š 2016-2020: Managed 15+ retail technology projects & system implementations,
designed & developed 20+ sales enablement tools, and
launched 40+ CRM campaigns for Alice + Olivia.
š² 2020: Left fashion to pursue my own path consulting small businesses on people & culture initiatives. My last day in corporate was March 6, 2020, so I pivoted to digital transformation & brand strategy REAL fast.
š©š»āš» 2022: Launched my pop culture podcast called Nicstalgia, migrated my newsletter to Substack, served as a founding contributor to Boys Club,
and worked in marketing for Mythos Studios, a web3 entertainment startup.
š 2023: Lost my job. Was appointed to the Community Council at Friends With Benefits.
šŖ 2024: Taught super fun fitness classes. Got a new full-time job !!!!!! (Manifesting)
What I'm most proud of having done
ā¢ Shaping company culture and acting as a role model for hundreds of employees
ā¢ Digitizing analog documents and codifying tacit knowledge into tangible learning materials
ā¢ Designing complex spreadsheets, templates, tools, presentations, and training collateral from scratch
ā¢ Driving digital innovation efforts and having my work result in the creation of a new digitally-native department
ā¢ Continuously challenging, dismantling, and reconstructing my belief
system around work
to be a better leader and person!!!
How I work
According to this test,
I'm primarily a Torrent. I'm innovative,
unconventional, creative, and curious
in the pursuit of knowledge.
I challenge the status quo rather than maintain it and
LOVE collaborating with instigators who believe in the value
and impact of our disruptive ideas.
Secondarily, I'm a Diplomat. I'm obsessed with talent
development and giving people the tools, knowledge,
and support they need in order to do their best work.
I'm extremely purpose-driven and deeply commit to the 'why'
behind what I do.
Ultimately, I'm driven to bring people together and make them
feel like a part of something. My personal values are
enthusiasm, expression, connection, and curiosity.
What I'm looking for
Every company calls it something different,
but I'm looking for a full-time, senior role with a People & Culture Programs focus.
This can
look like Learning & Development, Training,
Internal Communications, Employee Experience, or Knowledge & Content Management.
I'm also open to roles in Organizational Effectiveness,
Process Improvement, Project Management, CRM, and Retail Operations.
Not interested in growth marketing or social media management.
Iām looking for stability and the potential for
longevity in a role where I can take projects and
run with them!!!
I'm excited to shape company culture and work with a
team toward a shared, progressive goal.
I'd be a great fit at a culture-forward company that
trusts its employees to do their jobs and values
autonomy, innovation, and collectivity.
I am NOT a fan of bureaucracy, micromanagement,
unfounded formalities, and hearing, "This is the way we've always done it."
If you don't know me already but somehow landed on this page
I'm just as nosy curious as you are.
